Margaret Carmley Malone, Age 81, Of Athens, TN, Passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015, at NHC of Athens.

A native of Monroe County and lifelong resident of Athens she was a daughter of the late Emanuel and Bertha Ann Thomas Carmley, and was preceded in death by her husband Warren Bryant Malone, a brother: Ralph Carmley, sisters in law: Evelyn Carmley and Flora Carmley, and son in law Joe Dean Frerichs II. She had worked for 23 years as a cook at Ingleside School, and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include:

A Daughter and Son in law: Denise and Jimmy Tallent of Decatur.

Grandson: Christopher Joe Frerichs and his wife Olivia of Athens.

Grand Daughter: Christina Denise Hill of Athens.

Great Grandchildren: Joseph, Neveah, Emily, Lilly, and London

Brothers and sister in law:

Wilford Carmley of Englewood

Arnold and Johnnie Ruth Carmley of Vonore

Sisters in law:

Loraine McKeehan of Athens

Funeral services will be 7:30 PM Monday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will be 11 am Tuesday in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers Jimmy Tallent, Chris Frerichs, William Carmley, and Dale Freeman.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:30 PM Monday at the Funeral Home.

Pauline “Polly” Keasler Pierce

Pauline (Polly) Keasler Pierce, 92 went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 22, 2015.

Born March 18, 1923 in Maryville, Tennessee, she lived most of her life in the Short Creek Community, Athens, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Marvin Pierce, parents Wilburn and Pearl Keasler, a brother Bill Keasler and daughter-in-law Sandra Pierce.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 13 at Friendship Baptist Church in Polk County. She was a member of Short Creek Baptist Church, Athens, Tennessee for 70 years and actively served in the church in the Women’s Missions groups, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School and many other areas. She was a graduate of Etowah High School and also completed Business School. She worked as a secretary in several capacities, which included working in Oak Ridge, Tennessee (The Secret City) during the Manhattan Project in World War II. She became a full-time wife and mother with the birth of her first child, and being a mother to her four children was her greatest passion. Her hobbies included sewing for herself and her daughters in the earlier years, crocheting, and creating beautiful quilts. Throughout her life, she enjoyed vegetable gardening and tending to her flowers. In the latter years she became an avid reader of hundreds of books, even into the last weeks of her life.

She is survived by her four children David Pierce, Athens, Deborah (Larry) McFarland, Cleveland, Devonda (Lee) Dockery, Kennesaw, Georgia, Denise (Jon) Sorah, Calhoun. She was a proud Mamaw to six grandchildren Amy (Bart) Seidner, Cumming, Georgia, Abby Pierce, Nashville, Suzanne (Brett) Arceneaux, Gonzales, Louisiana, Paul Sorah, Tucker, Georgia, Grant McFarland, Nashville, Andrew Sorah (Alexa) Ft. Pierce, Florida, and six great grandchildren, Zachary, Carter, Blake and Katie Belle Seidner, Cumming, Georgia, Olivia and Caroline Arceneaux, Gonzales, Louisiana. She is also survived by a brother Chan (Dene) Keasler, Marietta, Georgia, sister Sharon (Wayne) Wilson, Englewood, sister-in-law Hazel Keasler, brother-in-law Ezra Hennessee, Athens and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, December 27 at Short Creek Baptist Church, 892 County Road 50, Athens, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-3 prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brett Arceneaux, J.C. Correll, Grant McFarland, Jonathan Pierce, Bart Seidner, Andrew Sorah and Paul Sorah.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Short Creek Cemetery Fund c/o Quentin Howard, Treasurer, 629 County Road 51, Athens, Tennessee 37303 or the Sandra Pierce Scholarship Fund, c/o McMinn County High School, 2251 Congress Parkway, Athens, TN 37303.

Henry Junior Daniel, Age 76, Of Ten Mile TN, Passed away Monday, December 21, 2015, at Starr Regional Medical Center.

A native and lifelong resident Ten Mile, TN, he was a son of the late Boas Lee and Tilda Jane Womac Daniel, and was preceded in death by a son John Lee Daniel. He was a machinist, retiring after 30 years of service from TVA, Watts Bar Hydro Plant, and was a member of the Machinist Local 1458 in Chattanooga. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Jana and Clovis Limburg of Ten Mile

Rita Norwood of Sweetwater, TX

A Son and Daughter in law:

A special friend whom was like a brother, Clyde Trew of Ten Mile

And many other family members and friends.

A Grave Side service will be 10 AM Wednesday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Rick Duncan officiating.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at Ziegler Funeral Home.
