Willie C. “Wild Willie” Hale

Age 83

Of Riceville

Passed away Wednesday morning, May 3, 2017

At his residence.

 

A native of Chattanooga and longtime resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late George and Ella Mae Hartman Hale and was preceded in death by a son, Willie Joe Hale on March 18, 2017 and two sisters and 9 brothers. Willie was a former employee of Athens Stove Works for 20 years and retired from E.A.T.O.N. Corporation. He was a member of West End Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include his wife of 25 years,

Eva True Hale of Riceville

Two daughters and sons-in-law,

Wanda and Lewis Ponce of Englewood

Patty and James Couey of Cleveland

One daughter-in-law,

Doris Hale of Athens

Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren

Sister-in-law,

Francis Hale of Decatur

Special nephew and niece, Danny and Vickie Hale and several other nieces and nephews

Special friends, Shirley Griffin and Michael and Mitchell Pane

 

Funeral services will be 7 pm Friday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Price and Rev. John Crisp officiating. Burial will be 11 am Saturday in Tellico Ave. Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Sammy Couey, T.J. Couey, Richard Hale, Shane Robinson, Zach Robinson, Lewis McDonald and Tim McDonald.

 

The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
