Jake Tipton Haney

Age 87

Of Englewood

Passed away Friday, May 5, 2017

At Bradley Healthcare & Rehab in Cleveland

 

A native and lifelong resident of, he was the son of the late Walter and Eliza Burris Haney. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Marie Martha Casteel Haney on February 07, 2015, four sisters, Oneida Smith, Lura Lee Golden, Ruth McNelley and Geneva Breshears, and two brothers Thomas Haney and James Haney. Jake was retired from Plastic Industries after 25 years of service and was a longtime member of The First Church of God in Englewood.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Haney of Cleveland

Two sons and one daughter-in-law, Rick and Evelyn Haney of Cleveland

Steve Haney of Englewood

Grandchildren, Erica Parris and husband, Justin of Cleveland

Caleb Haney, of Cleveland

One sister, Wilma Lovingood and husband Robert of Athens

Two sisters-in-laws

Gracie Raper and husband Jack of Englewood

Carrie Brown and husband Lynn of Englewood

Several nieces and nephews

 

Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Tuesday at The First Church of God in Englewood with the Pastor Rick Patterson officiating. Burial will be 11:00 pm Wednesday in Sunrise Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Sam Natter, Tommy Haney, Jimmy Haney, Caleb Haney, Tracy Lovingood, and Jack Raper.

 

The family will receive friends 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Tuesday prior to the funeral service at The First Church of God in Englewood

  1. Uncle Jake gave me my first taste of chewing tabacco when I was just a little lad. Needl;ess to say it made me very very sick. I still remember how it was. Also Uncle Jake was a spitting image of Grandpa Haney. I will miss him.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. Our parents are suffering no more and have made it to their reward in heaven. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
