James “Jim” Ernest Wright

Age 67

Of Riceville

Passed away Monday morning, July 17, 2017  

At Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens

A native of Bradley County and longtime resident of Riceville, he was the son of the late Roy Burton Wright and Naomi Mae Nance Wright and was preceded in death by an infant son, Adam Emanuel Wright; granddaughter, Lily Ghorley. He was a member of Local Labor #846 and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Riceville.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years,

   Vickie Sue King Wright of Riceville

Three daughters and one son-in-law,

   Melissa Mae Green of Athens

   Jamie Victoria Childree of Memphis

   Joy Miranda Ghorley and husband, Zachary of Riceville

One son,

   James Stacy Wright of Athens

Five grandchildren: Ashley Wright, James Anthony Wright, Austin Blake Wright, Dakota Green and Summer Green.

Three great grandchildren: Heather, Victoria and Christian

One sister and brother-in-law,

   Betty Lou Bunch and husband, Jimmy Carl of Charleston

Two brothers and sisters-in-law,

   Calvin Roy Wright and wife, Terry of Athens

   Ralph Sherman Wright and wife, Louise of Birmingham, AL.

Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry King and Rev Mitchell Wright officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Dakota Green, Anthony Wright, Zach Ghorley, Nick Thompson, and Greg Mason.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
