James Andrew "Drew" Layman

James Andrew “Drew” Layman, age 38, native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2024.

Drew was a friendly soul who never encountered a stranger. He loved the outdoors. Drew enjoyed extensive travel with his family as he grew up and continued to love adventure later in life. He had attended Union McMinn Baptist Church.

He is preceded by a son: Carter Drew Layman, paternal grandfather, who was very special to Drew: Lewis Layman, and maternal grandparents: Bart and Mary Francis Neil.

Drew is survived by his parents: Lewis Kevin Layman of Calhoun and Kathy Neil Ingram (stepfather: Randy Ingram) of Athens, daughter: Sophia, sons:  Taylor and Riley, sisters: Kelly Jane Fuqua (Seth) of Mt. Juliet, Megan Layman of Athens, Aleah Jade Layman of Cleveland, maternal grandmother: Kathy Layman of Athens, his special aunt and uncle: Patsy and Greg Acuff of Signal Mountain, along with several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Union McMinn Baptist Church in Niota. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00 PM with Brian Coffey officiating.
