Alma Louise “Lou” Hammonds Lombardi

Went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, June 13, 2018
At her residence.
A native of Athens and resident of Cincinnati, Ohio for 45 years, before moving back to Etowah in 1999. She was the daughter of the late Arlin Albert Hammonds “Cap” and Addie Cate Bledsoe Hammonds and was preceded in death by her husband, John Lombardi; brother, Gerald Hammonds and one sister, Barbara Ann Teague. She retired from Cincinnati Ohio National Insurance Company after 43 years of service in the claims department and was a member of Clay Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sisters and three brothers-in-law,
Alberta and Arthur Rogers of Athens
Octsie and Wendell Price of Athens
Brenda Gail Hammonds of Etowah
Terry and Billy Ray Nesmith of Cleveland
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7 pm Saturday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Wilcox officiating. Burial will be 2 pm Sunday in South Liberty Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Nesmith, Waylon Price, Brian Rogers, Randy Armstrong, and Tony Nesmith.
The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
