BERTHA (BREEDWELL) MASHBURN

Bertha Breedwell Mashburn, age 78, of Athens, TN, Passed away Wednesday March 14, 2018 at her residence.

A native of Decatur and lifelong resident of Athens, she a daughter of the late Bonnie Mae Breedwell Hall.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Louie Mashburn, a son and daughter in law Jerry and Sherry Mashburn, and many brothers and sisters.  Bertha had worked for 25 years with NHC of Athens, and was a member of Pope Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter; Jane Mashburn Wilson of Athens.

Five grandchildren and spouses; Trisha Akins (Casey), Adam Wilson (Katlyn),

Amy Murphy (Jeremy), April Holmes (Shi), and Austin Wilson (Hailey)

Eight great-grandchildren; Taylor, Chase, Ali, Macey, Kaylee, Brooklyn, Peyton, and Keira.

Funeral services will be 6:30 pm Friday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Van Elkins officiating.  Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday in Pond Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Casey Akins, Trisha Akins, Chase Akins, Amy Murphy,

Adam Wilson and Peyton Wilson.  Honorary pallbearer; Austin Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
