Went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, May 2, 2018  

At his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Leonard Hester and Ida Mae Jack Chrisman and was preceded in death by brothers, Virgil and Clarence Hester; sisters, Ollie Mae Frisbie and Juanita Oliver.

He has been a roofer since age 16 and founded the Billy Hester Roofing Company, which he passed down to his sons, Brad and Chad, now known as the Chad Hester Roofing Company. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church where he proudly watched his family serve the Lord.

He enjoyed fishing, sitting on the porch drinking coffee, and spending time with his grandchildren, following them all over watching whatever sport they played.

Survivors include his wife, DeFaye Hooper Hester

Sons and daughters-in-law: Terry and Tonya Hester, Steve and Regenia Hester, Chad and Kelli Hester, Brad and Stacey Hester

Daughter: Tonia Price and Terry Underwood

10 grandchildren

Funeral services will be 3 pm Saturday at Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Hester officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery with Freddy Hester, Donnie Dean, Tim Steele, Jackie Plaster, Terry Underwood, and Randy Hester serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends 1-3 pm Saturday at Victory Baptist Church 2101 Hwy 11 N. Niota, TN. 37826.
