DANIEL PAUL WINDER

Daniel Winder, age 78, of Athens, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October, 13, 2017.

Daniel was a very talented musician, known for playing the fiddle in The Pleasant Hill Quartet. He is now playing his instrument in heaven worshipping his Savior.

A native and lifelong resident Athens, he was a son of the late Wayne and Jessie Farner Winder. Also preceded in death was his brother, David Winder, a grandson, Chris Chadwell, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Benton.

One of Daniel's hobbies was flying radio control airplanes. He was a member of the McMinn County Radio Control Association. Daniel was retired from Damy Industries and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a faithful member and servant at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include the love of his life, and wife for over 55 years, Linda Jones Winder of Athens

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Ten Mile with Rev. Curtis Porter officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be, James Winder, Joe Winder, Dustin Winder, Otto Melhorne,Wayne Evans and Bobby Lefew.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Heater and Bobby Reed.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 16, at Ziegler Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
