Donald “Don” Preston Banks

Age 78

Of Athens, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020,

At Life Care Center in Athens

A native and longtime resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Joseph Adam and Dalphene Armstrong Banks. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean Kirk Banks, a son; Donald J. Banks; and several brothers and sisters. Don had attended Parkway Baptist Church.

Survivors include 2 sons;

Rick and Mary Anne Armstrong of Chicago, IL

Steve and Diane Banks of Athens, TN

Two Daughters;

Patti Syperek of Chicago IL,

Becky and Jimmy Romano of Chicago IL.

A Sister; Barbara Butler of Macon, GA.

Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services will be 3 pm Sunday at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Mark Sliger officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
