Passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Pauline Russell Lankford and was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Ann Lankford; one sister, Sandy Lankford; three brothers, Paul, David, and Mickey Lankford. Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served during Vietnam and attended Upper Spring Creek Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter,

   Shannon Lankford of Detroit, MI.

A son,

   Noah Shane Lankford of Athens

Two sisters and brothers-in-law,

   Brenda and Curtis Correll of Athens

   Betty and J.T. Carter of Athens

Two brothers, Kenny Lankford and Rick Lankford both of Athens

Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Special friend, Belinda Karawan

Graveside services will be 11:30 am Friday in Upper Spring Creek Cemetery with pastor Terry Gunnells officiating.

Pallbearers will be Randy Shaw, Jamey Correll, Junior Long, Randy Shelton, Perry Liner and Bobby Conine.

The family will receive friends 10-11 am Friday at the funeral home.
