Passed away Tuesday morning, November 28, 2017

At Physicians Regional in Knoxville

A native of Englewood and longtime resident of Madisonville, he was the son of the late Roy and Janie Witt Hampton and was preceded in death by a brother, Buford Hampton; three sisters, Velma Brock, Tiny Rose Roberts, and Martha Lou Baxter. He along with his wife Rebecca were owner/operators of Hampton Heating and Air for 35 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years,

Two daughters and one son-in-law,

   Letha Jean Silvers of Madisonville

   Brenda and Newton Walker of Madisonville

   Jamey Lee Silvers of Knoxville

   Christina and Jacob Cooper of Madisonville

   Victoria and James Eaton of Madisonville

Five great grandchildren: Jayden Nicholas Eaton, Zoey Arianna Eaton, James Alan Eaton Jr, Jace Thomas Cooper, and Baby Eaton

Special thanks to Dr. Vicki Turnbough and all the staff at Medical Associates of Athens, Staff of Tennova Physicians Regional, Dr. Yonter, Dr. Stofko and Associates, Dr. Mehta, Guardian and Intrepid Home Health and Benchmark Therapy Services in Madisonville for their love, care and compassion they have shown since July 2017.

Funeral services will be 7 pm Friday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Carr officiating. Burial will be 11 am Saturday in Hampton Cemetery in Englewood.

Pallbearers will be Zendall Baxter, Buford Baxter, Corey Lawrence, Olan Curtis Derrick, Rhance Rooker, and Trevor Shell. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Orr, Kenneth Butch Baxter, Kevin Hammonds, Darrell Derrick, Eddie Baxter, and Roland Malone.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
