Jerry Wayne Morgan, age 73, of Athens, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Emmitt R.D. Morgan and Helen Lee Pruitt and was preceded in death by a step mother, Aileen Morgan; brother, Ricky Morgan. He was owner/operator of Morgan Excavating for 35 years, previously employed at McMinn Memory Gardens Maintenance and most recently the McMinn County Board of Education as a Bus Driver for 25 years. He was a member of Piney Grove Community Church in Etowah.

Three great grandchildren: Cason Moses, Hadley Moses and Ayson Toney

Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Headings officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Brock, Jeremey Edwards, Chase Morgan, Pablo Santos, Travis Morgan, Johnny Robinson, Eddie Combs, Jason Walker and Aaron Toney.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
