JOHNNY MARK BLACK

Johnny Mark Black, age 56, of Athens, died Tuesday night, December 25, 2018, at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville.

Mark was a lifelong resident of Athens and was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Natasha Black and a brother-in-law, Danny Branham.  He was owner and operator of J and S Embroidery and was a member of Vonore Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for the past 6 years and was currently serving as chairman of the deacons. Mark was a member of Athens Travelers Club and the Classic Ford Club.

Mark truly loved people and he never met a stranger.  He never lost his sense of humor and even had a beautiful smile on his face until the time God called him home.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Kathy Ann Branham Black, of Athens

His parents, Johnny Frank Black and Nannie Sue Simpson Black of Etowah

A daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Tommy Robinson of Athens

Two granddaughters, Megan Walbert and Erin Robinson

Two great –grandsons, Tyler Walbert and Brent Walbert

One brother and sister-in-law, Nicky and Rhonda Black of Etowah

One sister and brother-in-law, Shari and Scott Roudebush, of Etowah

Three brothers-in-law, Brad Branham, Jr., and wife, Penny of Athens, Jeff Branham and wife, Lisa of Niota  and Timmy Branham of Athens

One sister-in-law, Kay Branham of Athens

Several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Cagle officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Robinson, Bill Robinson, Martin Dain, Doug Purdy, Mike Akins, Scott Cass, Dean Williams and Hoyt Bowerman.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Kirk Kuykendall, Barry Toomey, Robby Davis, John Cockrell, David Guy and Tim Trotter.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Home.
