Age 75

Of Niota, died on Saturday, March 24, 2018

At Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens.

He went home to be with his Savior, joining his precious daughter Cindy and family. He is now rejoicing with them in Heaven.

A native of Madisonville and lifelong resident of Niota, he was the son of the late John and Ruth Gibson Reed and was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Miller; sister, Debbie Korb; brother, Joe Allen Reed. He retired from the McMinn County Highway Department and was a truck driver for ACI. He loved cattle farming and was a member of Clay Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved Jesus and his family more than anything.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years,

Five grandchildren: Christopher Miller and wife, Jen, Chelsea Ann Miller, Skylar Nicole Miller, Brylee Claire Cupp and Bella Grace Cupp.

Six brothers and four sisters-in-law,

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Reed, Rev Jason Reed, Rev. Craig Wilcox and Rev. Scotty Wells officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Reed, Jonathan Falls, Adam Reed, Andy Reed, Josh Cross and Jessie Combs. Honorary pallbearers will be his beloved brothers.

The family will receive friends 5-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
