Karen Deene Keylon, age 76, of Athens, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Athens Place
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was the daughter of the late Arvil Roy Keylon and Beatrice Haire Keylon and was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Bettye and David Burke. She was an assistant store manager for Proffitt’s and retired from Keylon Eye Care. She was a member of East Athens Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law,
Chris and Meredith Cate of Ooltewah
Chad and Pearl Cate of Athens
Grandchildren: Keaton Jamerson, Hannah Cate, Kaitlyn Jamerson, Chandler Cate, Alyssa Cate, and Emma Cate
Five brothers and sisters-in-law,
J.R. and Marilyn Keylon of Lenoir City
Bob and Alberta Keylon of Soddy Daisy
Bill and Tolitha Keylon of Athens
Tommy and Dianne Keylon of Alta Vista, KS.
David and Joyce Keylon of Athens
Many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Dannel officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keaton Jamerson, Kelly Keylon, Kevin Keylon, Denton Ridge, John Reid, and Jason Keylon.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
