LILLIE PEARL (VINEYARD) MCELHANEY

Lillie Pearl Vineyard Darnell McElhaney, died Tuesday evening, December, 24, 2019, a day before her 80th birthday.

She was born in Maryville, TN to the late John and Irene Miller Vineyard, and was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Darnell and her 2nd husband, Lester McElhaney. She was also preceded in death by six sisters and one brother.

Lillie had worked in various sewing factories earlier in her career. She later retired from the bakery department at Ingles Market.  She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.

Lillie is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law,

Darlene and Daryl Sylvester of Athens

One grandson, Nick Sylvester

Three great-grandchildren, Jackson Sylvester, Delilah Sylvester and Heidi Morris

One brother, J.D. Vineyard

Along with several nieces, nephews and friends

A special thank you to Dr. Samuel Olsen and the loving nurses at Caris Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Lillie and our family.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Mars Hill Cemetery in Englewood with Rev. Frank Kincannon officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be, Daryl Sylvester, Nick Sylvester, Walt Shoffiett, Terry Bowers, Randy Dalton and Craig Bowers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jackson Sylvester and Harley Bowers.

 At Lillie’s request, there will be no formal visitation.
