Lori Ann Swafford Balaban, age 53, of Athens, died Sunday evening, December 22, 2019, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, from a very rare and aggressive form of cancer.
A native of Athens , she was a daughter of the late Carl and Ella Kate Kincaid Swafford.
Lori was a big fan of Meigs County High School football and was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, whom she adored,
Carl Balaban and John Balaban of Athens
Sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Vearl Reynolds of Athens
Brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Katherine Swafford of Athens
Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 27, 2019, at Clear Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Fansler officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Springs Cemetery with nephews and great-nephews serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Friday at the church prior to the funeral service.
