Passed away Monday, November 25, 2019

At his residence.

A native of Bellaire, OH.  and longtime resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Robert Earl and Mary Irene Kidder Rankin. Ron coached softball and loved to ride his Harley. He retired as an over the road truck driver.  

Survivors include his wife of 51 years,

   Sarah Virginia “Jenny” Gunter Rankin of Athens

Three daughters and sons-in-law,

   Christine Marie and Sammy Bush

    Deborah Lynn and Ted Williams

   Ronda Mae and Travis Brown

One son,

   Ronald Rankin II and Will

Eight grandchildren: Katelyn Hart, Madison Bridges, Hailley Bush, Blake Patterson, Emilee Patterson, Ashlee Brown, Cody Brown, and Baylee Brown.

One great grandson, Zachary Hart

Five sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedar Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
