Thomas “Tommy” Edward Haney

Age 69

Of Etowah

Passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019

At Starr regional Medical Center in Etowah


A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Thomas Clifford and Pearl Kelly Haney and was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Haney.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and was a used car dealer with T & L Used Cars and also a member of the Southeastern Carpenter & Millwrights. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.


Survivors include his wife of 21 years,

   Leona Triplett Haney of Etowah

Step daughters,

   Angie and Rob Lambert

   Amy and Scott Cass

One step son, Andy Daugherty

Three step grandsons, Judd Daugherty, Jarin and Macy Cass, and Jansen Cass and his girlfriend, Carrie Walden

Three sisters and two brothers-in-law,

   Carolyn Haney of Englewood

   Jane and Ricky Jennings of Riceville

   Brenda and Jay May of Niota

One brother and sister-in-law,

   Jimmy and Darlene Haney of Athens

One nephew and several nieces.

Special friends, Frankie Massengill, Rusty Rollins, and Charles Curtis.


Funeral services will be 7 pm Tuesday at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin Brown officiating.  Burial will be 11 am Wednesday in McMinn Memory Gardens.


Pallbearers will be Judd Daugherty, Jarin Cass, Jansen Cass, Jeffery Haney, Rusty Rollins, and Frankie Massengale.


The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday at Zion Hill Baptist Church.
