Of Niota

Passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Shannon Bernice Phillips Thurman and was preceded in death by a paternal grandfather, William Thurman; aunt, Peggy Hemphill. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Decatur.

Survivors include his father, Carl Thurman

Three daughters: Sierra Thurman, Olivia “Grace” Thurman, and Maddie Thurman

One son, Trent Thurman

One brother and sister-in-law, Tracy and Jennifer Thurman

Paternal grandmother, Lois Clark Thurman

One aunt and uncle, Debbie and Joe Haney

Funeral services will be 4 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hawkins, Brent Jones, Andy Allen, Randy Liner, Travis Walls, and David Hicks.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
