Passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018

At his home.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Henry and was preceded in death by a brother, John Benson.  He was a  Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years,

   Shirley Jenkins Benson of Decatur

Two daughters,

   Kelli and Jason Brooks of Decatur

   Lisa Swafford of Delano

Two sons,

   Michael Benson of Athens

   Dylan Benson of Decatur

Grandchildren: Cody Womack, Trent Womack, Brittany Brooks, and Jacob Brooks

A great grandson, Warren Colt Womack

His mother,

   Louise Morgan Benson of Riceville

One brother,

   Kenneth Benson of Cleveland

There will be no formal visitation or service at this time.
