William Stephen Partain

Age 72

Of Calhoun, GA.

Passed away Monday, January 6, 2020

At Remond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA.

A native of Athens and longtime resident of Calhoun, GA., he was a son of the late C. L. Partain and Ann Lou Perkinson Gamble and John Gamble. William  was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Petty Partain; one son, Travis Sullivan; two brothers, Ronald Partain and Gerald Partain.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was an over the road truck driver, known as “Tennessee Rebel”

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law,

   Melissa and Barry Holden of Canton, GA.

Two sons and one daughter-in-law,

   John Stephen and Ruthy Partain of San Antonio, TX.

   James William Partain of Calhoun, GA.

Nine grandchildren: Alissa Hitt, Bradley Partain, Sydney Baker, Casey Baker, Zach Warner, Lucas Holden, William Mason Holden, Christian Partain and Tyler Ferguson.

Graveside services with military honors will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 9, 2020, in McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
