William Larkin “Bill” White

Age 80

Of Athens

Passed away Thursday morning, November 30, 2017  

At Life Care Center of Athens

A native and resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late William Earl and Mae McGaha White and was preceded in death by four sisters, June Rue, Oneida Malone, Florence Cannon, and Tinker Rogers; two brothers, Buck White and Jack White. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Sweetwater Hospital and was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years,

   Wanda Steed White of Athens

One son and daughter-in-law,

   Jeff and Lisa White of Athens

Two daughters and sons-in-law,

   Sandy and Dennis Yelverton of Aiken, SC.

   Jodi and Jonathan Toomey of Sweetwater

Grandchildren: Sarah Eaton and husband, Drew, Abby Gay and husband, Andrew

One great granddaughter, Milee Eaton

Four step grandchildren

Three brothers and one sister-in-law,

   Jim and Bobbie White of Athens

   Clyde White of Athens

   Claude “Topper” White of Madisonville

Funeral services will be 7 pm Saturday Clear Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Elkins officiating. Burial will be 2 pm Sunday in Sullins Cemetery

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Saturday at the church.
