Willie Mae (Stewart) Bryson

Willie Mae Stewart Bryson age 90 of Athens, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at her residence.

Willie spent her time volunteering at the McMinn County Senior Center. The love for music led her and John to pick and grin at the Center, hospitals, nursing homes and churches as a part of their ministry.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was the daughter of the late Ola Mae Sitzler and was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John F. Bryson; son, John Bryson Jr., daughter, Christine Trotter. 

Willie was a retired Nurses Aid and a member of Woodward Ave Church of God.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law,Cynthia Bohannon of Athens and Carolyn and Terry Finnell of Cleveland

One son, Ricky Bryson of Athens

Seven grandchildren: Ross Bohannon Jr. and wife, Laura, Chanel Groomes and husband, Jack, John Bohannon and wife, Amy, Whitney Finnell, Tyler Finnell, Kyle Trotter and wife, Samantha, and Kolton Trotter

Fourteen great grandchildren: Cody Groomes, Jacob Bohannon, Alyla Bohannon, Alyssa Bohannon, Josh Groomes, Krista Bohannon, Brady Bohannon, Dylan Bohannon, Madison Bohannon, Lilly Neu and four others.

Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Tuesday in Green Hill Cemetery with Brother Jerry Stephens officiating.Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

There will be no formal visitation at Willie’s request.
