Albert Jerome Lunsford

Albert Jerome Lunsford, age 93, of Athens, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at his residence.

Albert was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County.  He was a son of the late Henry and Pearl Rue Lunsford.  He was also preceded by his wife Betty Charles Lunsford, sons Mark Lunsford and Michael Lunsford and his wife Myra, daughter Debra Lunsford Melton and husband Gary, sister Helen Morgan and brother Luther Lunsford.

Albert served in the United States Army and drove an ambulance during the Korean War.  He worked for H.T. Hackney for many years.

Albert is survived by

Grandchildren Haley Henry (Travis), Matt Lunsford (Cindy), Cayci Lunsford, and Beth Lunsford;

Great Grandchildren Hazen Henry, Anthony Henry, Lukas Lunsford, Jace Lunsford, Addox Moore, and Harrison Benton;

Sister Fannie Clark;

Special Niece Janice Beatrice Winslett

Several other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 11 AM, Thursday March 2, 2023, at Niota Cemetery with Brother Jerry Stephens officiating.

Family and friends will serve has pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5 PM – 7 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home.
