Alfredo 'AL' Stacey Wheaton

Alfredo ‘Al’ Stacey Wheaton, age 71, of Riceville, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.

Al was a native of Corning, NY, and a resident of McMinn County since 1999.  He was a son of the late Stacey and Marion Reynolds Wheaton. He was also preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Roger Webb, uncles Larry “Butch” Wheaton and Doug Wheaton Sr, and cousin Doug Wheaton Jr.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Mary Elizabeth Reed Wheaton of Riceville

Combined family of nine children Randy and Stephanie Wheaton of Athens, Jennifer & John Thomas of Geneva, NY, Alan and Marylou Fritz of Ocala, FL, Stacey Fritz of Ocala, FL, Paul Atwell Jr of Corning, NY, Gary and Monica Atwell of Riceville, Winfield and Salena Atwell of Elmira, NY, Doreen and Tracy Tucker of Cross Hills, SC, and Jamie and Miranda Atwell of Corning, NY;

39 Grandchildren;

53 Great Grandchildren;

Sisters Stacey Jo and Stanley Gerkey of Decatur, Kathy and Paul Oberdorf of Savona, NY, and Mondaine Hatler of Montour Falls, NY;

Brothers John Wheaton of Dallas, TX and Rusty Wheaton of Dallas, TX.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 25, 2022, at the Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating.  Interment will follow at Eastanallee Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Wheaton Jr, Brandon Wheaton, Gary Atwell, Beau King, A.J. Tucker, and Tracy Tucker.

The family will receive friends from 9 AM to 11 AM Thursday.
