At Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens

Beverly was born on December 8, 1940 in Dallas, Texas shortly before her family returned to Tennessee in 1946. She was the daughter of the late John Leonard and Lillie Salisbury Russell and was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Russell McKeehan; nephew, Marcus McKeehan; nieces, Laura Plemons and Lisa Plemons Newman; brother-in-law, Jene Plemons.   

Beverly attended McMinn County High School where she played clarinet in the marching band, was on the swim team and played basketball. She later played softball for the Athens Adult League.  She enjoyed watching UT football and Atlanta Braves baseball. Beverly loved her many pets, family gatherings, spending time along the Tellico River and was a great storyteller. She was often invited to tell stories for local Scout troop meetings. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Athens.

Survivors include a sister,

   Marion Russell Plemons of Athens

Brother,

   John Leo Russell and his wife, Janet of Flintstone, GA.

Many beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She loved spending time with them and she was everyone’s favorite aunt.

She is also survived by special friends Buddy and Bernice Axley.

There will be no formal services. A private memorial for family will be held at a later date.
