Barbara Gean Duncan Cook Kincannon, age 87, a native of Vonore and longtime resident of McMinn County, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. She was employed with Plastic Industries and attended Boyd Memorial Chapel and Nonnaburg House of Prayer.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Cary and Nora Irene Morgan Duncan, her first husband of 48 years: Clarence Cook, second husband of 12 years: Frank Kincannon, her siblings: Harvey “Bud” Duncan, Cecil Duncan, James Larry Duncan, and infants: Viola Marcella Duncan and Jerry Wayne Duncan, and her brothers-in-law: Floyd Green and Norman “Jack” Bridwell.
Barbara is survived by her daughter: Debra Irene Anderson, sons: Will Gene Cook and Jackie Sherlin Cook (Anita), her grandchildren: Daniel Will Cook, Brandon Jarvis, Christy Smith, Kyle Smith, Heather Williams, her great-grandchildren: Ethan Elmore, Emma Elmore, and Gabriel Henry, and her sisters: Virginia Marie Cook (Freddie), Patricia Simpson (Jerry), Dorothy Agatha Green, Linda Sue Bridwell, and Judy Darlene Rolph.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Ziegler Funeral Home, with funeral services to be held at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow funeral services at 2:00 PM at McMinn Memory Gardens. Wayne Lee will be officiating.
Barbara’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
