Ben Milton Riden

Ben Milton Riden, age 79, of Athens, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Life Care Center in Athens.

Ben was a native of Athens and lifelong resident of McMinn County.  He was the son of the late Vernie Lee and Hazel Melton Riden.  He was also preceded by sister Judith Odell.

Ben was a longtime member of Keith United Methodist Church where he enjoyed helping with the Sunday offering and attending the Corner Sunday School class.  He also loved working on the family farm. 

Ben was a Tri County family member since December 1985.

Ben is survived by

Nephew John David Swafford of Murfreesboro, TN;

2 Great Nephews;

1 Great Niece.

Graveside Services will be at 2 PM Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Piney Grove Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM – 1:30 Thursday at Ziegler Funeral Home.
