Brenda Kay Cook

Brenda Kay Cook, age 67, a longtime resident of Athens, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025. She was born in Buchanan County, Virginia, but was currently residing at Etowah Health Care Center, where she enjoyed socializing with her friends, playing Bingo, and attending church services. Brenda had a big heart, giving to everyone around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Howard Jimmy and Lola Kidd Cook, and a sister: Barbara Holman.

Brenda is survived by her daughter: Tonya Green, son: Jonathan Johnson (Sharon), her brothers and their families: Junior Cook, Jerry Cook, Ronnie Cook, Danny Cook, Jesse Cook, and Michael Cook, and her grandchildren: Tyler Johnson, Tessa Johnson, Nolan Johnson, Trinity Johnson, Leah Hall, and Dylan Green.

A private service will be held by the family at a later date.
