C. M. Cowart, age 86, of Athens, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at his residence.
C. M. was a native of Etowah and a lifelong resident of McMinn County. He was a son of the late Fletcher and Pearl Sue Moore Cowart. He was also preceded in death by his wife Patsy Farris Cowart, sisters Imogene Thomas and Geneva Moses, and brothers Bobby, Billy, and Gary Cowart.
C. M. is survived by
Daughter Debbie Buff (David) of Athens;
Sons Ed Cowart (Vanessa) of Athens, Wayne Cowart (Donna) of Athens;
9 Grandchildren;
8 Great Grandchildren;
Sister Joyce Guffey of Etowah;
Many Nieces and Nephews;
Special friend Danny Blevins.
Funeral services will be 7 PM Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Myrl Vaughn officiating.
Interment will be at 11 AM Friday, August 26, 2022, at McMinn Memory Gardens.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 7 PM Thursday.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Johnnie Carter and the caregivers at Hospice of Chattanooga.
