Cathy Lynn (Bates) Lyon

Cathy Lynn Bates Lyon, age 71, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at her residence. She was a member of The Upper Room Church in Riceville, where she served as the pianist.

 She is preceded by her parents, Andrew and Geraldine Hatfield Bates.

She is survived by her husband: Ronald J. Lyon, and a daughter: Andrea Brewer (Clifford, Jr.)

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:30 PM on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Hillcrest Church of God with a funeral service to follow at 6:30 PM with Pastor Caleb Leamon and Pastor Zach Davis officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Clifford Brewer, Nick Thompson, Jared Ghorley, Carol Dean Bates, and Aaron Womac will serve as pallbearers.
