Cathy Aileen Russell Murray, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Parkwest Hospital surrounded by her family. She was of the Baptist faith who with her singing group “By Faith”, she lived and spoke her ministry and testimony to her Lord.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who is proceeded in death by her parents: Ray and Ruth Russell and sister: Patsy Darlene Russell Watson, and her brothers-in-law: Lonnie Hughes, Doug Whitener, and Eddie Hughes.
Cathy is survived by her spouse: Steven “Tim” Murray and children: Mellisa Land, Renee and David Plemons, Dennis and Polly Harris, Sam and Leisty Murray, Sarah and Jessie Key, grandchildren: Katie and Lucas Smithers, Riley Plemons, Cooper Plemons, Ryan and Natalie Martin, Alexis and Travis Key, great-grandchildren: Annie Martin, Mason Smithers, special daughter: Angie and Mike Borden, special grandchildren: Madison Mathews, Mason and Maegan Headrick, her siblings: Glenda Whitener, Zelma Hughes, Becky Russell, Connie Hughes, Jack (Laverne) Russell, Johnny (Jessie) Russell, Jim (Judy) Russell, Tim (Deanna) Russell, and Richard (Cheryl) Russell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Sunrise Cemetery in Englewood at 10:00 AM. Brother Jason Brookshire and Brother Wayne Lee will be officiating.
Andy Hughes, Ryan Russell, Trey Russell, Jason Watson, Preston Miller, and Daniel Russell will serve as pallbearers.
