Charleen Hicks Thrasher

Charleen Hicks Thrasher, 76, went to her heavenly home on January 7, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Reverend Charles & Ethleen Hicks, her husband of 27 years, Woodrow "Sonny" Thrasher, and her sister and brother-in-law Gale & Glenn Moses.

Charleen was born in Athens, TN on August 16, 1945. She was a devoted lifelong member of Athens Free Saints True Holiness Church. She retired from Johnson Control and later fulfilled her dream of owning her own book store.

Charleen believed in helping people, giving all she had to the service of others. She loved her family, her books, her dogs and most of all she loved the lord with all her heart.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene & Joan Hicks, Bill & Janie Hicks, her sister & brother-in-law, Becky & Harley Moses, her brothers Doug & Mark Hicks, her daughter & son-in-law Pam & Shannon Harden, her grandson Matt Harden, and her great-granddaughter Izzy Harden and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Athens Free Saints True Holiness Church with Rev. Bill Hicks officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Hicks, Matt Harden, Anthony Hicks, Kevin Moses, Hunter Givens and Scott Trueblood.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM – 2 PM Sunday at Athens Free Saints True Holiness Church.
