Charles Edward “Eddie” Baxter, native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. He was a longtime member of Englewood Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joe Culberson and Martha Lou Hampton Baxter, several brothers and sisters, and a daughter-in-law: Jerri Baxter.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 62 years: Nellie Faye Duncan Baxter, daughters: Charlotte Oliver (Jason) and Shelia Baxter Willis, sons: Buford Baxter and Zendall Baxter (Melanie), siblings: Kenneth Baxter, Bill Baxter, Curtis Culberson, Thelma Robinson, and Zeffley Coleman, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Englewood Church of God. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the church with Pastor Scott Cardin officiating. Interment services will follow at Hampton Cemetery in Englewood.
Eddie’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
