Charles Craig “CC” Monroe, age 68, born in Athens and lifelong resident of Pond Hill Community, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 9, 2025. He is now reunited with his friend Reverend R.T. Smith. CC was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, and he never met a stranger with whom he did not want to share Christ. He attended the University of Tennessee. CC was a member of the Steamfitter Local #43 of Chattanooga, and the CMA Trinity Warriors #994.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Charles Clay and Fannie Witt Monroe, paternal grandparents: Fred and Bisha Jones Monroe, and maternal grandparents: Henry and Lydia Wilson Witt.
CC is survived by his wife: Cathy Pearman Monroe, stepson: Nathan Hughes, step-grandson: Christian Hughes (Skylar), a sister: Karen Monroe Ferguson (Jeff), brother-in-law: Reverend Bill Pearman (Patty), special niece: Jennifer Randolph, special aunt: Eunice McAllister, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Freedom Baptist Church from 5:00 until 6:30 PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Funeral services will be at 6:30 PM at the church. Reverend Chad Oody, Pastor Steve Jones, and Reverend Bill Pearman will be officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 9:00 AM for graveside services at Eastanallee Cemetery on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Joe Randolph, Nathan Hughes, Christian Hughes, Richard Cardin, Tommy Shelton, Gary Scruggs, Jackie Harrison, and Zeke Randolph will serve as pallbearers.
