Charles ‘Tracy’ Carter (KA4JPB), age 60, of Athens, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2022, at the residence of his late parents’ home.
Tracy was a man of so many trades. He was a long-time employee of Textron and Collins & Aikman. Co-owner of CoCoCo and Par Car Go, McMinn County’s first internet service provider. He as an avid Ham Radio operator as well as a youth coach and referee for the local AYSO Soccer organization. He loved putting on and also singing in karaoke shows. He was currently the IT Manager of Storm Power Components as well as owner of Carter Electric HVAC.
Tracy’s greatest accomplishment by far was being a Papaw.
Tracy was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. He was a son of the late Charles Willard and Nancy Jane Jones Carter. He was also preceded by his wife of 35 years Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Darlene Monroe Carter and son Elisha Andurs.
Tracy is survived by
Daughter Amanda Carter;
Granddaughter Bailey Wallis (his world);
Daughter-In-Law Kim Buchanan Andrus;
Sister Carolyn Carter;
Brother Randy Carter;
Nephews Randall Carter, Caleb Carter, and Wesley (Jessica) Fairbanks;
Great Niece Ava Fairbanks;
Great Nephew Colby Fairbanks.
Funeral Services will be at 7 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Miller officiating.
Interment will be at 12 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Cody Standridge, Phillip Morrison, Reed Clayton, Randy Carter, Randy Hill, and Caleb Carter.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Tuesday.
