Christine “Chris” Harrison Riggins, age 86, a native of McMinn County, passed away at her home on Friday, June 26, 2026. She was of the Baptist faith. Chris enjoyed sending cards to her family and friends for all occasions, playing games with her family, watching birds at her bird houses, and watching her flowers growing in her flower beds.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lawson and Mary King Harrison, her husband: Emmett O.B. Riggins, Sr., a daughter: Donna Riggins, a son: Wayne Riggins, a granddaughter: Cassie Riggins and a grandson: Chris “C.J.” Clear, Jr., her siblings: Marie Womack, Eva Harrison, Ofa Nipper, Catherine Rayburn, Ruby McMahan, Hattie Harrison, Frank Harrison, Cecil Harrison, Jr. Harrison, Pearl Roberts, and Charles Harrison.
Chris is survived by her children: Patricia and Teddy Clark, Theresa and Wayne Rookard, Tez and Chris Clear, Emmett O.B. Riggins, Jr. and Phyllis Jones, her grandchildren: Emmett Wayne Cash, Steven Reno, Michael Reno, Robert Clark, Tyler Clear, Holly Riggins, Jenni Hensley, Dana Ezell and Tiffany Bonior, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Shane White and Ryan Ezell. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at McMinn Memory Gardens.
Steven Reno, Michael Reno, Robert Clark, Tyler Clear, Ryan Ezell, and Jason Bonior will serve as pallbearers.
