Clara Joyce (Carter) Pritchett

Clara Joyce Carter Pritchett, age 78, a native of Sweetwater and longtime resident of McMinn County, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Athens.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Oscar and Charlsie Fox Carter, two sisters, and five brothers.

Clara is survived by a daughter: Sabrina Decker (Rufus), her sons: David Pritchett (Wilma) and Calvin Pritchett, along with eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM with Reverend Larry Arwood officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Cody Pritchett, Dylan Pritchett, Caden Decker, Matt Bacon, Bradley Lankford, and Ben Bacon will serve as pallbearers.
