Clyde “Papaw” Neeley, age 93, of McMinn County, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022, at the home of his son in Madisonville.
Clyde was born in Overton County in 1928 and moved to McMinn County in the mid 1940’s. He was a son of the late Walter James and Tilda Lou Boles Neeley. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Beatrice Axley Neeley in 1967, sisters Bessie, Christine, Willie Bea, Etter, Ester, Dovie and Annie, brothers Henry, James, Thomas and Clure.
Clyde is survived by
Daughters Teresa Greer of Knoxville, Sharon Seay of Mosheim, TN and Donna Neeley of Advance, NC;
Sons Danny Neeley (Kathy) of Rome, GA, and Ron (Lisa) Neeley of Madisonville;
Grandchildren Amanda Neeley Martinez, Adam Neeley, Jim Greer, Matt Greer, Stacie Seay Mathes, Chad Seay, Jessica Williams, Christy Williams, Miranda Neeley, Dakota Neeley, Brittany Neeley (Papaw always called “Blondie”), Jesse Neeley and Ryder Neeley;
11 Great Grandchildren;
Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 19,2022, at the Ziegler Funeral Home with Evangelist Ricky Neeley officiating. Interment will follow at Fain Cemetery, Englewood, TN.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 1 PM to 2 PM Friday.
