DANIEL RUE Obituary

Daniel Eugene Rue, age 77, of Athens, died Friday, April 3, 2020, at Starr Regional of Athens.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Athens and was a son of the late Austin and Pearl Sneed Rue.

Daniel was preceded by two sisters, Viola Wilcox and Frances Rhinehart, along with one brother, Junior Rue.

Daniel enjoyed fishing, and playing golf. He was a veteran of the US Army and was member of South Liberty Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Erma Elliott Rue, of Athens

Three daughters,

Dana Evans of Athens

Deborah Johnson and husband, Curtis of Calhoun

Jeanne Kersenbrock of Athens

Five grandchildren,

Joshua Evans and wife, Bionka

Justin Evans and wife, Kristianna

Jeremy Hardin and wife, Heather

Christy Kersenbrock

Nicole Bouchard

Three great-grandchildren

Brantley Evans, Brooklyn Evans and Zayne McCoy

One brother, Carl Rue of Athens

One sister, Dianna Wheaton of Athens

Several nieces and nephews.
