DeFaye “Faye” Hooper Hester, age 73, of Athens, went to be with Jesus at her home on Friday evening, March 20, 2020.
A native and longtime resident of Athens, she was a daughter of the late J.R. and Geneva Daughtery Hooper. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Billy William Hester on May 02, 2018, a sister, Joyce Ann Hooper Chrisman and an infant brother, Danny Ray Hooper.
She was formerly associated with Service Master and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Niota.
Faye leaves behind a daughter, Tonia Price and Terry Underwood
Four sons, Terry and Tonya Hester, Steve and Regenia Hester, Chad and Kelli Hester and Brad and Stacey Hester
10 grandchildren
10 Sisters, Jane Collins (Michael), Trish Malone, Kathy Land (Steve), Sue Buckner (Frankie), Doris Cook (Lee), Eva Weir (Ron), Phyliss Hooper, Angie Hooper, Tammie Patterson and Glenda Godfrey (Ronnie)
2 brothers, Tim Hooper (Sissy) and Rick Hooper (Sondra)
Due to the current situation that our country and community is facing, and concern for the safety of others, the family will have a private funeral at Victory Baptist Church in Niota on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, with Rev. Chad Hester and Rev. Donnie Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
