Daniel "Danny" James Williams

Daniel James “Danny” Williams, age 66, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. Danny was a member of South Liberty Church of Christ. He was known as “Uncle Danny” to so many people. Danny grew up in North Athens, graduated from McMinn County High School, and attended Cleveland State Community College. He was in transportation most of his life. He loved to farm and work with his beef cattle.  Danny was a master craftsman who loved to build things from wood. He was a kind, generous man who would help anyone in need. Danny was a man of strong beliefs and loved by everyone who met him.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Donald E. and Doris Ann Frye Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Williams, sons: Joe Williams (Ariel) and Ryan Williams, granddaughters: Lily Williams and Juniper Williams, brother: Ed Williams (Lori), sisters: Susan Peglow (Robert) and Sandra Kyker (Wayne), step-grandchildren: Jordan Williams, Clayshawn Williams, and Jacobi Williams.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at South Liberty Church of Christ. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 PM with Brother Will Guy officiating. Interment will follow directly after services at South Liberty Cemetery.

Joe Williams, Samuel Peglow, Ryan Williams, Matthew Peglow, Ben Gregory, and Jonathan Peglow will serve as pallbearers.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Niota Train Depot on September 23, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 PM.
