David Harris Obituary

David Charles Harris, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 1, 2023 at his residence in Athens, TN where he has lived for the last 15 years. Prior to that he been a life long residence of the Poconos living in Tobyhanna, PA.

Growing up he was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, golfer, family man, and proud Marine.

Born in Umitilla, FL he was the son of the late Charles and Jessie Hoover Harris. He was also preceded in death by his son Jeffery D. Harris of Englewood, TN, also previously of Tobyhanna, PA.

David is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Mary Jane Batzel Harris; they have been friends since the age of 10. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kimberly Keyes (Michael) of Susquehanna, PA; Kyle Harris of Washington, D.C. ; great-grandchildren Mason and Konner Keyes of Susquehanna, PA; daughter-in-law Ann Marie Harris of Mount Pocono, PA; and his faithful companion, his dog "Runaway".

Funeral arrangements will be made by Duffy & Snowden Funeral Home in Moscow, PA.

There will be no visitation. Private burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, PA.
