David Lee Hicks

David Lee Hicks, age 62, a native of Gary, Indiana and a longtime resident of McMinn County, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. He was a football player for McMinn County High School.

He is preceded in death by his father: R.A. “Bo” Hicks, his wife: Angie Boe Hicks, and a nephew: Dexter Toomey.

David is survived by his mother: Patricia Kay Messer Hicks, his son: Preston Hicks (Ashley Nichole Hicks), grandchildren: Riley Lauren Hicks and Jacob Preston Hicks, step-grandchildren: William Hunter Leamon and Logan Fisher Leamon, sisters: Patty Kay Hicks (Roger Williams), Angel Ray Moore (Jack Mahaffey), and Susie Marie Toomey (Randy), his nieces and nephews: Randall Carter, Victoria Moore, Michael Moore, Chelsie Nelson, and Chase Toomey, along with several aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at The Lighthouse Church International in Charleston, TN from 6:00-8:00 PM.
