David "Round Man" O'Daniel

David “Round Man” O’Daniel, age 75, a native of Athens and resident of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Charlie and Ruth Kinser O’Daniel, his wife: Edna Jane Haire O’Daniel, an infant daughter: Sheila O’Daniel, great- granddaughter: Nora Dunn, and his siblings: Billy O’Daniel, Danny O’Daniel, and Debbie O’Daniel Gill.   

David is survived by his son: Johnny O’Daniel and wife, Sonya: grandsons, Johnathan O’Daniel and Spencer Smith: granddaughter, Jordan Dunn and husband, Jason: great-grandson, Bryson Dunn: a sister, Patsy Underdown, special nephew, Jason O’Daniel: several nieces and nephews, and special caretakers, Tori Parker, Elizabeth McFarland, and Devin McDonald.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Brian Coffey officiating. Interment will follow at Clear Springs Cemetery.

Tony Underdown, Travis Brown, Jason O’Daniel, Devin McDonald, Jason Dunn, and Johnathan O’Daniel will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Underdown, Terry Underdown, and Tracy Underdown.
