Debbie (Wilson) Miller

Debra “Debbie” Wilson Miller, age 65, of Athens, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, while at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville.

A lifelong resident of Athens, she was a daughter of the late John R. Wilson Sr and Frances Davis Wilson Wattenbarger. She was also preceded in death by her step father Elmer Wattenbarger, sister Frankie McCracken, brother John R. “Butch” Wilson Jr, along with an infant brother, Ronnie Wilson.

Debbie was a longtime member of East Athens Baptist Church and attended Miracle Deliverance Tabernacle. She had served as an EMT, a medical assistant and was associated with Health Works in Cleveland.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Gary Miller of Athens

 Kelly Gentry of West Palm Beach, FL, Beth Gentry Clark of Riceville, Shawna Miller of Athens and Jodi Miller of Athens

Great granddaughter, Penelope Rahmanian and great grandsons, Rory Clark and Hixson Clark

Brothers: Jerry Wilson and wife Cathy of Riceville,  Keith Wattenbarger and wife Natasha of Ten Mile,  Michael Gorczyca of Riceville and John Gorczyca of Las Vegas, NV

Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Brother Anthony Wynn officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hayden Martin, Carson Clark, Henry Sutton, Ben Sutton, Shawn Sexton and Gerald Miller

Honorary pallbearer will be Parker Clark

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 14, from 12:00 pm until 2:30 pm prior to the funeral service  at Ziegler Funeral Home.
