Della Novella Stafford Hines, age 95, a native of Roane County and longtime resident of McMinn County, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James Dewey and Rose Lee Carmon Stafford, her husband: John Wahsington “Big John” Hines, sons: Randy Hines, Freddie Williams, and Richard Williams, a daughter: Judy Moore, sisters: Ethel Brown, Lena Novella Stafford, Faye Howard, Arlena Stafford, and her brothers: Kenny Stafford, Robert Stafford, Dewey Lee Stafford, Henry Stafford, grandchildren: John Williams, Loretta Key, Christopher Hamonds, and Justin Robinson.
Della is survived by her daughters: Barbara Williams, Debbie (Paul) Hamonds, and Johnnie (Benjamin) Hammonds, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, a brother: Eddie Stafford, several nieces and nephews, special friend: Tim Alvarez, and a special granddaughter who was like a daughter: Kimberly Robinson (Michael).
A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Ziegler Funeral Home, with funeral services at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at McMinn Memory Gardens. Chaplain Bryce Current will be officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
