Deloris Ann Howard Hacker, (known to many as “Lois”), age 68, native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. She worked many years in the cafeteria at Riceville School and was a member of West End Baptist Church. She spent the majority of her younger life on the softball field, leading to local Hall of Fame recognition. As she got older, she enjoyed shopping at the local thrift stores, but most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a special bond with her grandsons and great-grandson, “Dru-baby”. She dedicated her life to putting others first, and to living her faith.
She is proceeded in death by her parents: J.E. and Naomi Daugherty Howard, her siblings: Larry “Dawg” Howard, Ronnie Howard, David “Duece” Howard, Jeff Howard, Ritchie Howard, and Connie (Howard) Freeman, and a very special niece: Michelle “Missy” Lamb.
Deloris is survived by her loving husband of 48 years: David Hacker, her daughter: Sarah Hall, grandsons: Bailey Hall and Ethan Hall, great-grandson: Andru Hall, and her siblings: Gail Lamb (James) and Lisa Thurman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Ziegler Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow funeral services at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Brother Jerry Stephens officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
